Congratulations to OpenStar Technologies, winners of the Excellence in Innovation and Technology Award at Friday night's 2degreesWellington Regional Business Excellence Awards.

The award is sponsored by Pertronic Industries Limited, was held at the Lower Hutt Events Centre, and was superbly managed by the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce.

OpenStar is based in Ngauranga Gorge, and through the use of super-magnets, cryogenics and super-smart people, the start-up is trying to replicate and contain the reactions that happen on the sun.

If they can crack creating contained nuclear fusion, our world will have bottomless supply of clean energy.
