Our upgraded F100 and F220 fire alarm panels incorporate the latest NZS 4512:2021 Standards requirements. The FPANZ listing number for the F100 is PI/130 and the F220 listing number is PI/132.
The 2021 version of the NZS 4512 Standard requires that a fire alarm power supply system must be able to meet the entire alarm load without relying on battery backup. As a consequence, some panels are deeper than previous models to accommodate the larger power supplies.
The size of installed batteries for any particular configuration of detectors and warning devices can be found at Pertronic’s Battery Size Calculator (https://www.pertronic.co.nz/tools/battery-size-calculator/).

On the NZS 4512:2021 panels the green “Normal” LED now extinguishes when the panel is in an “Off Normal” state and the “Defect” LED flashes. This ensures that the “Normal” indication has a completely unambiguous meaning.
The EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) protection has also been upgraded. This improved protection ensures the panel’s systems continue to function correctly and further reduces false alarms and failures in the presence of higher levels of external electrical noise.
The panels have been tested to the NZS1170.5 seismic Standard by a specialised seismic testing laboratory. As well as seismic restraint requirements to limit the movement of batteries within the cabinet, this Standard aims to ensure that the fire system remains operational during earthquake events.
The NZS4512:2021 versions of the F100 and F220 are now in volume production. The Pertronic technical services teams, located in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland welcome your calls and are available to assist with all enquiries.
